I'm a PhD candidate in Human and Social Dimensions of Science and Technology at Arizona State University, where I'm affiliated with the Consortium for Science, Policy, and Outcomes (CSPO) and the Virtual Institute of Responsible Innovation (VIRI).

In July 2016, I began working as AI Policy Research Fellow at the Future of Humanity Institute's new Strategic AI Research Center at the University of Oxford.

I also serve as Editorial Assistant for the Journal of Responsible Innovation (JRI).

My research interests include the social implications of emerging technologies (especially artificial intelligence and robotics), theoretical and practical aspects of responsible innovation in general, and solar energy.

Prior to starting graduate school, I worked at the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E) for two years, and interned for the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC). Before that, I completed various internships related to energy policy while getting a BA in Political Science at George Washington University.

My dissertation committee consists of David Guston (chair), Erik Fisher, and Joanna Bryson.

My research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the Bipartisan Policy Center, and the Future of Life Institute.
